Game Time!

If you are looking for a fun laid back night with your friends and new cool people stop by The Rec Room.

It was an open industrial style space filled with countless games, beer, and live sports games.

First and foremost there was a giant projection of the Grizzlies game with a section of bleachers next to it. When you travel further into the Rec Room you find sections of couches with video games galore! You can reserve one of their Living Room's on their website.

And if you get thirsty they have drinks ready for you!

There was also no shortage of games. From connect for to ping pong to giant genga there was something for everyone. Take some time and try it out!

Crawfish Time!

This past weekend was the Crawfish Festival in the Overton Square. The streets were blocked off and tables were set up so everyone could enjoy the sea creatures.

CrawfishCrayfish, also known as crawfish, crawdads, freshwater lobsters, or mudbugs, are freshwater crustaceans resembling small lobsters, to which they are related

In a slight change of plans I celebrated the Crawfish Festival at a friend's house eating homemade crawfish. I had never eaten a crawfish or even seen one in person before last night. The entire experience was great!

To cook the crawfish they are placed into seasoned water with a variety of vegetables (potatoes, garlic, mushrooms, corn on the cob).

I'm not going to lie, touching the crawfish was a lot for me. Tearing it apart to get the meat was even more. But it was all worth the effort. The food was amazing!!

If you get a chance to try Crawfish Festival 2016 you should take advantage it! Now get out and enjoy this fabulous Memphis weather!

Saturday Morning Exploration

Memphis always has a lot of events to explore and clearly Saturday's are my favorite days to go exploring.

First, I stopped by the Dixon Gallery and Gardens which are free on Saturdays between 10am to Noon. It is normally $7 to enter the gallery so there is no need to limit yourself to the morning.

There are a lot of  things to explore although I spent most of my time enjoying the beautiful gardens.

The Dixon is definitely a stop you should be making this Spring or Summer. It is absolutely beautiful. I hope you get out and enjoy this beautiful Memphis weather!!
